The alarm blares and you’re startled awake. As you reach to turn it off on your phone, you see that you’ve received a text or email that immediately stresses you out and – BOOM – your day has started off in the negative, which usually means that you’re not going to be in a great mood.
If this sounds familiar, you’re not alone. As we begin to wake up each morning, we are in our most fragile mental and emotional state. This is largely because we are fluttering between beta brainwaves (our awake or conscious mind) and alpha brainwaves (our restful self or unconscious mind).
Our unconscious mind has been measured to be over 1 million times more powerful than our conscious mind. That means anything that we experience in this relaxed state is going to be over 1 million times more powerfully charged into our body and mind!
With that being said, I think it’s about time we give you some awesome habits to make sure that you start off your day right, so you can become a morning person.
Habit 1: Go Jets
Put your phone on airplane mode before you go to sleep, so that you’re not met by anything stressful when you wake up. Go through the next 3 habits before turning your phone off airplane mode and officially starting your day.
Habit 2: Drink Up
After going a whole night without drinking any water, you’re most likely going to wake up a little dehydrated. Hydration is the easiest way to boost energy and improve mood, so go drink up! Try to drink at least 16 ounces of water if you can.
Habit 3: Attitude of Gratitude
Starting your day with gratitude is an easy way to put yourself in an abundant mind state. When we feel abundant we feel happy and we attract more wonderful things into our lives. Write down at least 3 things you’re grateful for and state them out loud verbally.
Habit 4: Your Perfect Day
Close your eyes and try to imagine your perfect day. Experience what it would be like to have today be the best day of your life. Bask in the enjoyment of all the good things that would happen to you on your perfect day. See and feel the emotions of everything on your schedule going exactly as you would like. Open up your eyes with a deep breath and a big smile and get ready to go live your perfect day.
Bask in the joy and optimism you’ve just created and magically you will become a morning person!
