Enjoy this smoothie as a delicious and super healthy alternative to chocolate which contains caffeine and can be over stimulating for the adrenals. If you’re allergic to peanuts – just leave the butter out for a carob-banana smoothie.
Ingredients:
- 2 Frozen, Ripe Bananas
- 1 tbsp. Carob Powder
- 2 Medjool Dates, Pitted
- 1 tbsp. Jungle Peanut or Almond Butter (raw & organic)
- 1-2 Cups of Almond, Coconut or Seed Milk
Instructions: Blend together on high speed for 30 seconds or until creamy and serve. Garnish with fresh fruit or cherries if desired!
What is Carob?
Carob is technically a legume, rich in Fiber, B Vitamins, Vitamin E & Antioxidants. Some use it to improve digestive health, lower cholesterol, or just value it as a chocolate replacement. Carob powder is simply the pod ground up, you can likely find it in the bulk section at a health food store or order it online from a health food website like RawGuru or another local website that ships to your place.
What are Jungle Peanuts
Jungle peanuts are non-toxic, as they are grown without the naturally occurring aflotoxins normally found in regular peanuts. Regular peanuts should be avoided all together if this is a concern for you. You can normally find Jungle peanuts at the health food store or order them online at RawGuru. If you don’t have Raw Jungle Peanut Butter just use a raw almond butter or other seed butter of your choice, just note it will change the flavor a bit.
