Craving chocolate and don’t want to cave in to that sugar filled, processed candy bar? No worries, you can still get your chocolate fix from a much healthier source. Cacao is the raw chocolate bean, and even though it’s a stimulant, it’s also loaded with minerals, being especially rich in magnesium. Not everyone can enjoy cacao without some of the side effects that stimulants bring, but I’m guessing that if you’re a chocolate lover, you’re just fine in that department. So enjoy yourself with this one and feel free to play around with the recipe a bit if you want to add more superfoods or sweeten it up!
Ingredients:
- 1 frozen banana
- 3 tbsp. ripe avocado
- 2 tbsp. cacao
- 1 tbsp. hemp seeds
- 1 tsp. maca
- 1 cup almond or coconut milk
Instructions: If you have frozen bananas (peeled of course) then you can simply take one out of your freezer to add to your smoothie, or you can add 1 fresh banana with the rest of your ingredients. I like to add milk and powders first, and let those blend, and then add in the solid ingredients to avoid having chunks. If you have an Omega Blender, this smoothie will be extra creamy, otherwise a regular blender will do the trick.
